It's the Lord, He Who Cares

I was deeply anxious for my jealousy of a sister in Christ. Christ Jesus led me to ask Him for forgiveness and His help out of this sin, for I was at my wits' end fighting against it.

August 9, 2011

Jesus led me to check my email box. In it was an email from Sister Katherine with two PDF attachments- Qing Cao Di (The Green Pastures) for April 2011. Qing Cao Di was the publication of Beijing Haidian Christian Church. Sister Katherine sent this email yesterday, not only to me, but to all in the Sermon Editor & PPT Projection Team of the church, so that we could write and contribute to the next publication in Oct 2011.

I paged through it, and there was a testimony from Brother Gang Yi of Qing Quan Shi Ban, one of the Chinese Hymn Bans of the church. I was only halfway through it when I saw Isaiah 43:7 mentioned. Gang Yi said he “felt the (Lord’s word) suddenly cleared the fog in his heart, and he was able to see the Lord God's plan for all who are called by His name, which is to love Him, listen to Him, walk and work with Him and trust in His beautiful plan for us. "

"I will say to the north,  'Give them up!'

and to the south,  'Do not hold them back.'

Bring my sons from afar

and my daughters from the ends of the earth—

everyone who is called by my name,

whom I created for my glory,

   whom I formed and made."

Isaiah 43:6-7 NIV

That was how Christ Jesus led Gang Yi by His words; but He taught me not to be jealous with the very same words. For neither the sister whom I envy nor I were created so that people could praise me, but we are both created so that Christ Himself could be praised when people saw us—Jesus is the One in the spotlight.

Again Christ Jesus led me to ask Him how my brothers and sisters in Christ and I could be one, as He commanded, because I knew I still I hadn't learned that, and I didn't feel up to it.

August 10, 2011 about 8:30 in the morning

My cell phone clinked as a text message was received. It was today's Guide in the Spirit message from the wife of the group leader of my Spiritual Growth Group. Jesus gifted her with such kindness that she sent each of the team members a text message every day, sharing Christ's words. For today it was:

"…We must not forget: it is the Lord God who chooses for us our different characters, backgrounds, races and interests, so we should treasure and enjoy our differences, not just tolerate it. The Lord wants us to be one, but He doesn't say He wants us to be the same. In order to be one, we cannot allow ourselves to be separated by our differences. We must focus on something more important: to learn to love each other as Christ Jesus has loved us, and to fulfill the purpose that the Lord has given to His church."

Lord, Christ Jesus, You have heard my prayer and You have not forgotten it; I have felt Your care and am amazed. Please satisfy Your purpose of creating me—to bring You glory.

In Jesus Christ' s name. Amen.
