20 Feb 2011 Sunday

Bible Verse:  Matthew 28:19 (NIV)
" 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

It’s great to see you, and I see lots of new faces today, welcome to Haidian church! This New Year will be a new start for us, it’s a great time to start a new sermon series, called On the Mission with Jesus!  We have worked out a great plan for this year, and hope everyone will get excited, and get involved in English Fellowship activities. Praise the Lord for His guidance

This sermon series will last for three Sundays:
1)      I’m dong the first series, - What is God’s Mission? What is God calling us to do?
2)      Next Sunday, brother Bing, will talk about what we can learn from the Serving King - Jesus.
3)      The third Sunday, Jessica will share with us the vision, and mission of English Fellowship for this year.

Our goal of the sermon series is, at the end of each sermon, you will say, “I’m in, count on me, I’m on the team, I want to be on the Mission with Jesus!” You will have opportunities to fill out a volunteer form, you can choose the teams that you feel you are called in, feel fit with the special gift given by God. We welcome all brothers and sisters join us together on the Mission with Jesus.

Let’s pray: dear Lord, You are the Lord of Lords, the King of Kings, thank You for loving us and leading us, please speak to each person in the congregation. Please purify our hearts, give us passion to serve You and each other, teach us to love each other; please give us passion to carry out Your mission, we pray in Jesus precious name, Amen.

Having a mission for any organization is very important, as we together are the church, God’s mission for us is the Great Commission: “ Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20.

Have you ever wondered why not God just make people believe and love Him instantly? Why it always takes some time? Because we are sinners, we are separated from Holy God by sins, “When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.” Romans 5:12.   Jesus shed blood, He was nailed onto the Cross in our place, paid sin's penalty for us all, so we can have eternal life through accepting Jesus as Savior.

And then we need to pass on the Gospel to others who haven’t heard about the Good News. We have a mission to save more souls, for many people around us, in our work, in our universities, on the street…many souls are still lost.  Let’s make Jesus’ the Great Commission our own life mission, have this life mission set from now on clearly.

Each person is unique with gifted talents, God made each one of us with a special purpose. The church does not refer to any church building, we, brothers and sisters in Jesus, together are the church, for the churches are one Body of Jesus Christ, “The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. ” 1 Corinthians 12:12,  “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” 1 Corinthians 12:27.  Let us, every Christian, be a full time Christian in daily spiritual life, to love God and love each other, and make Live for Jesus the purpose of your Life.

In John 20:21, “ As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” If you feel you are called by the Lord, have a passion for His mission, we warmly welcome you join the Mission team!  Detailed information about recruiting volunteers, please click the website page link: http://www.hdchurch.org/english/html/Recruiting_Volunteers/2010/0429/93.html  Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10.   Amen!

May Jesus Christ be known wherever we are!  Praise God!

Summary by Claire

Worship Song: There is a Fountain

There is a fountain filled with blood
Drawn from Emmanuel’s veins
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains
Lose all their guilty stains
Lose all their guilty stains
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains

The dying thief rejoiced to see
The fountain in his day
And there may I, though vile as he
Wash all my sins away
Wash all my sins away
Wash all my sins away
And there may I, though vile as he
Wash all my sins away

Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood
Shall never lose its power
‘Till all the ransomed church of God
Be saved to sin no more
Be saved to sin no more
Be saved to sin no more
‘Till all the ransomed church of God
Be saved to sin no more

E’er since, by faith, I saw the stream
Thy flowing wounds supply
Redeeming love has been my theme
And shall be ‘till I die
And shall be ‘till I die
And shall be ‘till I die
Redeeming love has been my theme
And shall be ‘till I die

When this poor lisping, stammering tongue
Lies silent in the grave
Then in a nobler, sweeter song
I’ll sing thy power to save
I’ll sing thy power to save
I’ll sing thy power to save
Then in a nobler, sweeter song
I’ll sing thy power to save.
